Easy, moderate and hard
Over the years we’ve explored most of The Cotswolds, riding its forgotten wool paths, deserted tracks and leafy lanes, and pumping our way up even the steepest of its many hills (before freewheeling back down again!). And along the way we’ve appreciated everything this beautiful area has to offer, admiring its grand country houses and vertiginously-spired churches; standing at the Cotswold Edge, waving at hot air balloons casting their shadows over the plain far below; trailing our fingers in a stream while taking a well-earned break under a weeping willow; and enjoying many a glorious lunch in its welcoming pubs.
As a result, it doesn’t matter whether your preferred cycling level is easy, moderate or hard, you’ll find that we’ve mapped out a great selection of scenic and rewarding routes, just right for you.
Choosing a ride
When you arrive at The Ormond Hotel, we’ll provide you with a folder containing the key information on all of our routes, such as difficulty level, distance, altitude gains and average time to complete. We’ll even estimate the number of calories you’re likely to burn! Each route guide will also provide details such as the best vantage points and places of interest, or a great pub worth stopping at. Simply tell us which routes you like best, and we’ll give them to you on a Garmin or load them on your own so you can enjoy the ride, without worrying about getting lost.
If you like, we can, arrange lunch reservations and complimentary refills for your isotonic drinks, spare inner tubes, locks, tools and we work with Veloton, a great cycle shop in Tetbury, if you need some emergency back-up.
